Description
A ¾‑inch PEX × ¾‑inch male adaptor is a fitting used to join a PEX pipe to a component with ¾‑inch male threads (often a valve, fixture, or other plumbing device). It typically features a PEX end (either barb, crimp, expansion, or insert style) that fits into or over the PEX tubing, and a male National Pipe Thread (MPT or NPT) on the other end. It is made from corrosion‑resistant plastic materials, to be safe for potable water systems. They are rated for temperatures and pressures typical to domestic water systems. Proper installation requires inserting the PEX tubing fully and securing it (e.g. crimp ring, clamp, or expansion tool) while applying thread sealant or tape to the male threads before connection.
